Open Question: Currency traders: what affects the rise and fall of the US dollar?
What are some of the things that make the US dollar rise and fall against the other major currencies of the world? Isn’t one of the biggest things that causes the dollar to fall our current huge trade deficit? Since we’re borrowing money (by issuing Treasuries), this puts downward pressure on the $, correct? I’ve never quite understood this, if you could list several things, that would be great!
